PURPOSE: Device and method of detecting a water level are provided to ensure the safety of processes against damage due to instability of inner water lever by calculating the inner water level of a tank and then applying and correcting bias and gain correction to the calculated water level.;CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting a water level comprises a detecting unit(150), a receiving unit, a correction calculating unit and a calculation unit. The detecting unit measures differential pressure depending on the water level at the upper and lower measuring points of a tank and the pressure of the tank(100). The receiving unit receives the differential pressure and the pressure. The receiving unit detects a water level value depending on the differential pressure. The correction calculating unit calculates bias and gain correction using specific weight value of liquid and gas materials in the tank depending on the pressure, specific weight value of compressed water applying reference pressure, and the water level measuring range of the tank.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
