PURPOSE: A method for detecting the level of a buffer tank in a food waste disposer is provided to effectively prevent a duct from being clogged with condensed water regardless of a water level sensor.;CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting the level of a buffer tank in a food waste disposer includes the following steps: a drying furnace is heated(S100); an initial operation is confirmed by verifying the elapse of a first time after the drying furnace is heated(S200); if the initial operation is confirmed, the temperature difference of the drying furnace and a duct which connects a buffer tank and the drying furnace is measured(S300); and if the temperature different is more than a pre-determined value and is maintained for a second time, the generation of an error is confirmed(S400, S500).
