PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING PIPERAZINE DITHIOCTATE AND GLIMEPIRIDE

PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing piperazine dithioctate and glimepiride is provided to treat or prevent type 2 diabetes and to improve blood glucose. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating type 2 diabetes contains 10-80 wt% of piperazine dithioctate and 0.05-5 wt% of glimepiride. The thiotic acid of piperazine dithioctate is R-(+)-thiotic acid or S-(-)-thioctic acid. The weight ratio of the piperazine dithioctate and glimepiride is 10:1-1000:1.
