PURPOSE: A signal estimation apparatus in a communication system and a method thereof are provided to automatically estimate a signal arrival direction of a received signal in a rapid and accurate way, thereby improving data reception performance of a receiver.;CONSTITUTION: A receiving part(110) estimates a signal arrival direction(104) of a received signal(102). The receiving part includes an electronic compass and a directional antenna(112) receiving the received signal in a spatial region. The electronic compass measures an azimuthal angle while being integrated with the directional antenna. A processing part(120) acquires received pattern information of the received signal.
