PURPOSE: A thread progress tracking method using a progress index and apparatus thereof are provided to effectively manage threads and system resources by predicting the progressing state of the thread which constitutes application programs.;CONSTITUTION: A selection unit(310) selects a thread which constitutes an application program. A determination method includes a command which constitutes the thread based on an established standard. A DPC(Deterministic Progress Counter)(330) creates the DPC of the command which is performed using the determination method. The DPI thread is stored in memory.
