PURPOSE: A method to fabricate long-period fiber grating and a fiber to fabricate by using the method are provided to improve productivity without a high price optically sensitive optical fiber and high price ultraviolet laser equipment. CONSTITUTION: A polymer is coated to make an optical fiber mounted in a substrate(S100). An exposure mask having a certain ratio is arranged in the substrate and an ultraviolet ray is exposed to the substrate(S300). One part of the Polymer exposed to the ultraviolet ray is developed through a developing solution(S500). The optical fiber remaining where Polymer is removed is etched and a long period grating is formed in the optical fiber(S600).
