PURPOSE: A method for preparing glycerol carbonate is provided to easily and quickly synthesize glycerol carbonate at low temperature.;CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing glycerol carbonate comprises a step of esterifying ethylene carbonate and glycerol using an ionic liquid catalyst-supported hybrid MCM-41 catalyst. The mole ratio of ethylene carbonate and glycerol(ethylene carbonate/glycerol) is 1-5. The reaction is performed at 40-100°C for 10 minutes to four hours. The hybrid MCM-41 catalyst is prepared by reacting alkyl amine in an MCM-41 catalyst, adding alkyl halide, and supporting ionic liquid.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
