SILENCER FOR A VEHICLE WHICH ENSURES IMPROVED DURABILITY AND INSULATING PERFORMANCE BY PROTECTION AGAINST THERMAL DAMAGE

PURPOSE: A silencer for a vehicle is provided to reduce exhaust noise, flow noise, and booming noise by being formed compactly.;CONSTITUTION: A silencer for a vehicle comprises baffles(41,42,43), an exhaust gas inflow pipe(20), an intermediate pipe(30), and an exhaust gas outflow pipe(51,52). The baffles are fixed at certain intervals in the longitudinal direction of the silencer housing . An inlet portion of the exhaust gas inflow pipe is connected to the silencer by penetrating through the front side of the silencer housing and an outlet portion of the exhaust gas inflow pipe is placed in the silencer hosing by penetrating through the baffles. The inlet portion of the intermediate pipe is placed in one chamber(12) divided by the baffle with the outlet portion of the exhaust gas inflow pipe. The exhaust gas passing through the intermediate pipe is discharged through the exhaust gas outflow pipe to the outside of the silencer housing. The inlet portion of the exhaust gas outflow pipe and the outlet portion of the intermediate pipe are placed in the same chamber. The outlet portion of the exhaust gas outflow pipe is protruded to the outside of the silencer housing to prevent with the exhaust gas discharge direction of the outlet portion of the exhaust gas outflow pipe from according with the inflow direction of the exhaust gas.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
