PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to display a white color or a gray color using external light when the liquid crystal display device is powered off, thereby overcoming design limits.;CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer(100d) is formed between first and second substrates(100b,100f). First and second polarization plates(100a,100g) are formed on outer sides of the first and second substrates. A reflective layer(100h) is formed on the second polarization plate. The reflective layer reflects external light. A scattering layer(100i) is formed on the reflective layer. The scattering layer scatters the reflected light. The reflective layer and the scattering layer display a white color during a power off state.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
