PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for increasing output efficiency in a mobile communication terminal are provided to improve the quality of signals and power efficiency at a high power mode by boosting input voltages of a voltage regulator.;CONSTITUTION: A supply modulator(200) comprises a voltage regulator(202), a switching regulator(204), and a DC-DC converter(206). The DC-DC converter provides a boosted power source to the voltage regulator by boosting voltage a battery power source of a mobile communications terminal. The voltage regulator performs a control operation to output a voltage which is amplified in direct proportion to input signals by using a power source from the DC-DC converter. The voltage regulator determines output voltages of the supply modulator. A switch(208) selects power provided to the voltage regulator according to the input amplitude level of the voltage regulator.
