METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ROBUST OBJECT TRACKING BY COMBINING HISTOGRAM-WISE AND PIXEL-WISE MATCHING APPROACHES

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for tracking an object of histogram base and pixel base are provided to reduce operation quantity and to prevent the deformation of the object by using color distribution. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus estimates a template weighted image(S11). The apparatus estimates a candidate weighted image(S12). The apparatus computes weight rate of a candidate image based on the template weighted image and the candidate weighted image(S13). The apparatus computes a motion vector based on the difference of a pixel of a template and a pixel of the candidate image(S14). The apparatus renews the template based on the candidate image corresponding to the motion vector capable of optimizing an objective function(S15).
