PURPOSE: A method for generating a tracking error signal, an optical pickup device using the same, and an optical disc drive device are provided to form a beam spot on an offset portion out of a tracking control axis which passes the rotating center of a medium.;CONSTITUTION: An optical pickup device forms a beam spot on a data track of a medium. The device makes the light of the beam spot reflect off the medium onto a light receiving device(32) with division sectors. The device detects a plurality of DC(Direct Current) signals and a plurality of AC(Alternating Current) signals from the division sectors.
