METHOD AND AN APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING HOLE-SHAPED DEFECTS IN SLABS, CAPABLE OF OFFERING A CONSTANT TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION OF A CENTER PORTION

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for preventing hole-shaped defects in slabs are provided to prevent hole-shaped defects caused by high temperature in a specific portion by maintaining constant temperature distribution of center portion near a corner portion.;CONSTITUTION: A method for preventing hole-shaped defects in slabs is as follows. Coolants are sprayed to a center portion(S101). The coolants is sprayed to corner portions of the slabs at 50~80% of a cooling jet quantity(S102). Each corner portion of the slabs is 1/6 of a length from the side of the slab to the width of the slab. The center of the slab corresponds to the length between the corner portions.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
