ERIOBOTRYA JAPONICA EXTRACT OR ITS FRACTION HAVING ANTIVIRAL, ANTIOXIDATIVE AND ANTIMICROBIAL EFFECTS

PURPOSE: A composition containing Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. extract or a fraction thereof for antiviral, antibacterial, or antifungal is provided to be used in functional foods without side effect. CONSTITUTION: An antiviral composition contains Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. extract or a fraction thereof. An antioxidative composition contains the extract or fraction. An antibacterial composition contains the extract or fraction. The extract is ethanol extract prepared by: adding 800-1200 weight parts of 70-90% ethanol to 80-120 weight parts of dried Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. leaves; a step of decomposing the Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. leaves by ultrasonic wave for 10-30 minutes; a step of shaking Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. leaves at 100-200 rpm and 20-30C for 10-14 hours; and a step of filtering and concentrating the extract at 30-50C.
