PURPOSE: A method for producing etahnol using a transformant with improved bioethanol productivity is provided to overexpress TATA-binding protein(SPT3,15) and to enhance ethanol productivity. CONSTITUTION: An expression vector, pGupSpt3.15 contains Saccharomyces cerevisiae SPT(suppressor of Ty)3 and SPT15 genes. SPT3 has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1 or 2. SPT15 has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 3 or 4. A transformant is prepared by introducing the expression vector to Saccharomyces cerevisiae YPH499(pGcyaDak, pGupSpt3.15Cas). A composition for producing ethanol contains the transformant.
