PURPOSE: A screen printing mesh and a method for forming patterns based on the same are provided to prevent the durability reduction of a screen printing mesh and the defects of transferred patterns due to remaining paste on a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A screen printing mesh(10) includes a plurality of octagonal-shaped first openings(11) and a plurality of polygonal-shaped second openings(12). The second openings are arranged between the first openings. The angle of a first line(n1) and a second line(n2) in a second opening is more than or equal to 90 degrees. A method for forming patterns using the screen printing mesh includes the following: the screen printing mesh is prepared; the screen printing mesh is expanded to be loaded on a frame; paste is applied on the screen printing mesh; and the paste is transferred on a substrate using a squeegee to form patterns.
