PURPOSE: A brain tumor treatment composition which includes coltsfoot extracts and a health supplement are provided to prevent growth of brain tumor cells and induce apoptosis. CONSTITUTION: A brain tumor treatment composition which includes coltsfoot extracts includes the Farfarae Flos ethanol extract as an active ingredient. The ethanol extract is extracted at 50 deg. Celsius for 24 hours. The ethanol extract is dried and concentrated at 45 deg. Celsius under a decompression condition. The ethanol is 95% ethanol. The composition comprises a carrier or a diluent which is allowable in the pharmaceutical field. The composition is used for prevention and treatment for primary brain tumor of neuroma, astrocytoma, nervous tissue, glioma, exothelioma, oligodendroglioma, medulloblastoma, spinal cord tumor or neurilemmoma. The health supplement for prevention and treatment of brain tumor includes the Farfarae Flos ethanol extract which includes the allowable food additive. The functional food includes 0.1-5 weight% based on the total weight of ethanol extracts.
