STEADY REST FOR EASILY AND RAPIDLY ADJUSTING THE CENTER OF A WORKPIECE

PURPOSE: A steady rest is provided to maintain the center of a workpiece by changing the position of a rest arm or intermediate part.;CONSTITUTION: A steady rest comprises two guide strips(15), guide cams, and guide pins(21). The guide strips are inserted between two half housing parts(5). The guide cams are processed in the guide strips. The guide pins are attached to the guide cams and are assigned to the free ends of two outer rest arms(11,12) of an intermediate part(6). The position of the intermediate part is adjusted by a first haft shell part(18). The positions of the guide strips are changed in the opposite direction to each other by a second half shell part(19).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
