PURPOSE: A gang-type tool unit of a lathe is provided to horizontally and vertically process workpieces by replacing a holding unit as a tool is straightly or vertically mounted with only one tool unit.;CONSTITUTION: A gang-type tool unit of a lathe comprises a housing(10), a driving unit(20), first and second holding units(30,60), a power transfer unit, first and second bevel gears(50,70). The driving unit generates rotary force. The first holding unit is detachably mounted on the housing, and a tool is supported on the end of the first holding unit. The first holding unit is connected to the driving unit, and rotated by the driving unit when the first holding unit is mounted on the housing. The power transfer unit is detachably coupled to the first holding unit when the first holding unit attached or detached. The power transfer unit is connected to the driving unit, and rotated by the driving unit when the power transfer unit is mounted on the housing. The first bevel gear integrally rotates with the first holding unit or the power transfer unit. The tool is supported on the end of the second holding unit. The second holding unit is vertically mounted on the power transfer unit or the first holding unit. The second bevel gear integrally rotates with the second holding unit.
