That is based on a color segmentation-based approach, the system and process for computing a 3D reconstruction of a scene from multiple images is provided. First, each image is segmented independently. Second, using the assumption that all pixels within the segments have the same disparity (disparity), the initial DSD (disparity space distribution) is calculated for each segment. Next, for each segment DSD is refined using a projection with the image of the neighboring segments, and so on.
