PURPOSE: A diatom-specific primer is provided to selectively and accurately amplify diatom by recognizing diatom-specific SNP in a sample. CONSTITUTION: A diatom-specific primer is a nucleotide of sequence number 4. A method for detecting diatom comprises: a step of isolating nucleic acid from a sample; a step of amplifying the isolated nucleic acid using a primer of sequence numbers 4-6; a step of determining the presence of diatom in case of the presence of amplified band. A PCR kit for detecting diatom contains a primer of a nucleotide of sequence numbers 4-6, DNA polymerase, dNTPs, and PCR buffer solution.
