PURPOSE: A method for improving the accuracy of a beat frequency in an FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) radar is provided to improve the accuracy of distance and speed by improving the accuracy of the beat frequency of a high speed moving object.;CONSTITUTION: An RF receiver receives a reflected signal from a target. A data acquisition unit mixes the received signal and a reference waveform formed in a reference waveform generator. A signal processor predicts a beat frequency by Fourier transforming the acquired signal. The signal processor calculates distance and speed. A controller controls a modulation width and modulation time of a waveform generator by receiving speed information from the signal processor. The waveform generator generates a baseband waveform of an FMCW radar according to the command of the controller.
