PURPOSE: A reciprocation compressor control apparatus and control method thereof are provided to reduce frequency or stroke by determining the load of a compressor.;CONSTITUTION: A load detection unit(7) detects the size of load generated in the compressor motor of a reciprocation compressor. The size of the detected load is smaller than a standard value. A stroke set point output unit(8) reduce stroke set points until the size of the load is over the standard value.
