The guide has a rotational axis (7) and a guide plate (1) for a saw blade (2), where the guide plate is movable. The guide plate is applied on work pieces (6) during a sawing operation. A pressure roller (5) holds a guide plate at a constant distance from the work pieces. An independent claim is also included for a method for guiding a saw blade through a guide plate.
