The sewing device (3) has a holding device (6) for form-stable receiving and guiding of sewing makers in connecting position of a sewing location. One of the sewing makers is fixed against abutment surfaces of the holding device by a holding unit. Supporting points are set within the abutment surfaces and connected to a pneumatic suction line. The sewing makers are formed as a box half shell made of a material such as polycarbonate and polyethylene. The holding unit is provided at a transverse part.
