Electro-optical surface coating for curved and planar surface of e.g. plastic body components of watercraft, has layer containing electro optical medium with particles selected from group consisting of non-sealed solid and liquid particles
The coating has a layer arrangement (16) with an electrically conductive layer (5) and an electrically conductive light transmissive layer (6) connected with respective contacts of a voltage source, where the layers form an electrode pair. A layer (1) contains electro-optical medium (1') with particles having optical properties that are variable depending on electric field applied by the electrodes. The particles are selected from a group consisting of particles enclosed by fluid (12) and surrounded by an outer capsule skin (10), non-sealed solid particles and non-sealed liquid particles. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing an electro-optical surface coating for a curved and planar surface.
