The gate has a safety device (4) stopping a closing movement of a gate leaf (2) when impinging on an obstacle. The safety device comprises a safety lath (5) at a forward edge of the gate leaf. A brake device (6) is actuated by the safety lath. The brake device comprises a brake shoe (7) that is arranged with a surface of a rail (1) or used as a braking surface parallel to the rail, where the brake device cooperates with the braking surface. A releasing device (20) releases a braking action of the brake device if the gate leaf closes an inlet of an intake recess (3).
