The actuator (100) has a stack of piezoelectric layers (1) arranged one above other. Electrode layers (2, 3) are alternatively arranged one above the other, such that the electrode layers overlap in an active region (10) between edge areas (11, 12) of the stack of piezoelectric layers. The edge areas of electrode layers are freely formed. Auxiliary electrode layers (20, 30) are coplanarly arranged and spaced apart from the electrode layers, respectively. The electrode layers and the auxiliary electrode layers are formed in metallic form.
