Testing quality of a workpiece machining, comprises: (a) cutting a workpiece (8) to form an aperture (13) on it, and (b) passing the workpiece in aperture forming region, through a sensor, preferably a distance sensor (15) during and/or after the cutting. The workpiece during passing is tested for complete cutting of the workpiece during the cutting of the workpiece in the region of the aperture to be formed. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a tool machine for cutting the workpiece, comprising a workpiece support (4) for mounting a workpiece in a machining plane, a machining tool, preferably a laser cutting head, for cutting the workpiece to form the aperture on it, a moving device for passing the workpiece mounted on the workpiece support in the region of the aperture to be formed, using the sensor, preferably the distance sensor, and a testing unit that is formed for testing the complete cutting of the workpiece during the cutting of the workpiece in the region of the aperture to be formed, during the passing of the workpiece; and (2) a computer program product exhibiting a coding device, which is accommodated for carrying out all the steps of the above method, when the program runs on a data processing system.
