The expansion anchor (10) has an anchor body (11) extending in an axial direction (A), where anchor body has a receiver (12) for an expansion element. The receiver runs in the axial direction. Slots for forming radial elastic areas (26) run in the axial direction. An anchor wall (34) has a radial outward protruding clamping projection (32) in an area of a slot in unloaded position of an expansion anchor. The dowel wall flushes against an axial adjacent inner wall area (36) of the expansion anchor on the inside area of the clamping projection in a radial manner.
