The tank (10) has a fuel container (11) e.g. natural gas- and hydrogen containers, for storing fuel e.g. natural gas and hydrogen, and a tank coupling (12) for releasable and gas-tight attachment of the container to a tank coupling retainer of an energy conversion system. An automatically adjustable fuel container filler valve (13) adjusts fuel delivery and/or fuel supply of the container. A control unit (14) controls the filler valve, and a communication interface (15) exchanges data between the control unit and a controller (24) of the conversion system. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vehicle comprising an energy conversion system (2) a method for operating a fuel replacement tank.
