The artificial bladder (1) has load cells (18,24) that determine position of bladder structure along vertical direction. The pressure sensors determine pressure acting on inner wall of bladder structure. A three-dimensional acceleration sensor determine the level of urine in bladder structure based on position of bladder structure and pressure acting on inner wall of bladder structure. An output device provides signal when predetermined level in bladder structure is reached. An independent claim is included for method for determining urine level in artificial bladder.
