The device with optical code-disk and magnetic sensors (4, 5) tangentially detecting a rotational position of a rotor (1). An evaluation unit (8) determines a rotational position angle from output signals of the optical code-disk and magnetic sensors, where the magnetic sensor is arranged around 90, 180 or 270 degrees opposite to the optical code-disk sensor moved around the rotor. The evaluation unit determines measurement for translatory displacement of the rotor from the output signals of the sensors to form a vernier arrangement for detecting angle range behind 360 degrees. The sensor is selected from a Hall-sensor and a three-dimensional Hall-sensor.
