The device has an arcuate guide arm (2) at which an objective hook (4) is secured. Markers or sensors (16, 18) i.e. radio frequency identification (RFID) transpondors, are arranged at the guide arm to detect a position of a target device. A drill guide (14) is displaced along the guide arm, and the sensors comprise a sensor coil that reacts on an external magnetic field. The sensors are connected with an evaluation unit (22) to determine the position of the sensor and/or a predetermined point of the target device based on output signals of the sensor. An independent claim is also included for a surgical target system comprising a transmission device for emitting reference signals.
