The device has a protective device arranged with a short circuit switch including a set of switching contacts (B, C). The circuit switch holds an actuating unit (A) in a working state. The circuit switch stops a local power generator while exceeding a target pressure value of a print medium in a pressure chamber. The chamber comprises a pressure orifice that extends away from the generator into a building. The chamber is opened under certain environmental conditions in the building such that the target pressure value is fallen below and the circuit switch is changed into an idle state. The actuating unit is a thermo bulb.
