The device (1) has an accommodating region (2) for accommodating persons, and a base frame (16) for supporting the accommodating region. A treatment element i.e. jet nozzle, impinges the person to be treated with energy or material e.g. sound, heat, radiation, vibration, liquids and gaseous material. A flexible air-permeable surface material is arranged at the base frame and fixed at an outer surface of the device by connection elements. The accommodating region is formed as a usage surface, lying surface (10) or standing surface. The surface material is sectionally transparent and washable.
