The method involves manufacturing a component i.e. tubular component, with a tubular cross-section by braiding and/or taping a core with fiber bundles, which are pre-impregnated with a thermoplastic matrix material. The matrix material is thermally melted during and/or after braiding and/or wrapping of the core, and the component is connected to a torsion bar spring (1). The component is flexed after removal of the core into a near net shape, or the final form, where a blow-molded part is used as the core. The torsion bar spring is made of fiber reinforced plastic. The fiber bundles include glass fibers, aramid fibers, Kevlar(RTM: para-aramid synthetic fiber) fibers or carbon fibers.
