The method involves providing alternating layers containing ceramic mass, and providing metallic paste between the alternative layers, which are arranged one above other to form a layer stack. The layer stack containing ceramic layers (10) arranged between internal electrodes (20) is sintered. The metallic paste has a dopant that dopes the ceramic mass containing barium titanium trioxide during sintering. The dopant is added to the metallic paste, which is selected from a group of barium titanium trioxide and zirconium titanium trioxide. The paste is selected from silver and/or copper. An independent claim is also included for a multilayer component comprising ceramic layers.
