The bearing includes a bearing component such as a bearing ring of rolling bearing or slide bearing. The bearing component's surface is made of metal such as steel like roller and ball bearing steel, or ceramic or plastic. The surface (3) of bearing component, which is in sliding or rolling contact with the bearing, is exposed outside. The region of the exposed portion (2) of bearing component surface is provided with an adhering layer (4) containing ionic fluid, such that the bearing component's storage space is free from ionic fluid. An independent claim is included for method for enabling friction-free operation of bearing using ionic fluid.
