The compressor i.e. hermetically-sealed refrigeration compressor (1), has a compressor block (2) and an electric motor (3) provided with a stator (5) and a rotor (6) e.g. external rotor, where the stator comprises a stator bundle of laminations (7) with axial grooves. Windings (8) are arranged into the axial grooves. The rotor has permanent magnets (10), and is non-rotatably connected to a shaft (13), which is held at the compressor block over a radial bearing (14). An axial center (18) of the stator bundle of laminations is located higher than an axial center (19) of the permanent magnets.
