The bearing has an armature (121) integrated to a rotor (120) and placed inside a water tight enclosure. A stator consists of electromagnets (132) associated with a cylinder head (131), and is protected by a sleeve (151) of magnetic anticorrosion material constituting a part of the watertight enclosure. A detector stator is protected by another sleeve (152) of non-magnetic anticorrosion material that constitutes a part of the enclosure. An air gap (106) of 0.3 to 0.5 millimeters is located between the sleeve (151) and the armature.
