Controlling a solder joint between a tooth (1) and a steel blade of a saw blade using a soldering machine, comprises (a) supplying a single tooth of a loading section (10) of the soldering machine, (b) applying a flow means (5) on the side of the tooth to be soldered, (c) placing a previously cut and optionally bent solder band (6) on the flow means, (d) metering the flow means and applying on the side of the solder band, which is not previously wetted by the flow means, and (e) supplying the equipped tooth of a plate seat of the steel blade and soldering. Controlling a solder joint between a tooth (1) and a steel blade of a saw blade using a soldering machine, comprises (a) supplying a single tooth of a loading section (10) of the soldering machine, (b) applying a flow means (5) on the side of the tooth to be soldered, (c) placing a previously cut and optionally bent solder band (6) on the flow means, (d) metering the flow means and applying on the side of the solder band, which is not previously wetted by the flow means, and (e) supplying the equipped tooth of a plate seat of the steel blade and soldering, where at least one of the process steps is checked using a non-contact measuring system (3). An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above mentioned method in a soldering machine comprising a tooth supply, at least a flow means-metering unit and a solder band supply, where the measuring system is arranged above the loading section of the soldering machine.
