The device (1) comprises adjustable support elements (3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), which are provided on each adjacent side (17,18) of the structure (2) for adjusting one or multiple support element distances. An evaluation unit (14) is provided, in which a control unit (15) is introduced for calculating the instability effect form length (l). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for adjusting one or multiple instability effect form lengths for avoiding instability of loaded structures; (2) a method for adjusting support element distances for avoiding instability of loaded structures; and (3) a method for adjusting buckling length for avoiding buckling pressure of loaded structures.
