A steel powder contains iron as primary component, and further contains (in wt.%) carbon (1.4-2.0), silicon (less than 1.0), manganese (less than 1.0), chromium (11.0-13.0), titanium (0.3-2.3), mixture of copper and nickel (less than 0.75), and solidifying agent (less than 5.0). The carbon source is graphite or carbon black. The titanium source is titanium carbide, titanium carbide powder, tungsten-doped titanium carbide powder and vanadium-titanium-doped carbide powder. The solidifying agent is molybdenum, vanadium and/or tungsten.
