The contact electrode comprises electrically conductive bodies having a contact region for contacting a component, and an electrically conductive receiving unit (7, 8). The conductive bodies exhibit a larger extension in a longitudinal direction as well as elastic properties in comparison to their thickness. The contact region of the contact electrode includes a lamella package (3) having lamellae (6) made of an electrically conductive material with the elastic properties. The lamellae are made of copper alloy or metal alloy having low electrical resistance. The contact electrode comprises electrically conductive bodies having a contact region for contacting a component, and an electrically conductive receiving unit (7, 8). The conductive bodies exhibit a larger extension in a longitudinal direction as well as elastic properties in comparison to their thickness. The contact region of the contact electrode includes a lamella package (3) having lamellae (6) made of an electrically conductive material with the elastic properties. The lamellae are made of copper alloy or metal alloy having low electrical resistance. A thickness of the individual lamellae is 0.05-3 mm. The receiving unit is: designed for ends of the lamella package in which the ends of the lamella package are arranged so that the lamella package is resiliently biased; provided for air- and/or water cooling of the contact electrode; and fixed on refrigerated, electrically conductive bars. The elastic properties of the lamella package are adjustable by a number of lamellae, a material of the lamellae, geometry of the receiving unit for the ends of the lamella package and/or by the thickness of the lamellae. Independent claims are included for: (1) an apparatus for carrying out a resistance joining with a contact electrode; and (2) a method for resistance joining of electrically conductive components.
