The method involves carrying out test injections in order to adjust an injector parameter used for controlling the injection processes during the operation of an internal combustion engine (1). The negative torque pulses are generated during the test injections of an electrical machine (3) coupled with the internal combustion engine in a synchronized manner to the positive torque pulses generated by the test injections. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine with a control unit.
