The rim (10) has a rim disk (14) extending vertically to a rotational axis, and a rim ring (16) extending parallel to the rotational axis and connected with two lateral rim edges (18). A brake lining (20) is integrated into the rim ring and/or into the rim disk, where an inner side of the rim ring points to the rotational axis. The brake lining is made of preform-based metal-ceramic composite material. The brake lining is inserted into a mold of the rim. A cylinder unit is arranged at lower ends of brake shoes. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a light metal rim for a vehicle.
