The device has a suction belt device (1) i.e. suction belt table, for conveying a curved print substrate (K1) in a sheet flow along a transport path (W) from an inlet area (E) to an outlet area (A). A front lay device (2) is provided for aligning the substrate in the outlet area. A suction device (3) comprising a suction head (4) is provided in the outlet area for temporarily gripping the substrate and raising the substrate in an area of a rear transverse edge (Q) such that a front edge of another print substrate (K2) is extendable below the former print substrate.
