The method involves detecting parameters e.g. air temperature (T), air pressure (p) and volume flow, in a zone in the proximity of a suction device (13), and detecting present heat flow in an extrusion line based on the parameters. Another heat flow is measured in the extrusion line. The former heat flow is compared with the latter heat flow. Adjusting parameters of the extrusion line are changed till optimum heat flow is achieved in the extrusion line, where the changes are stored in a controller based on deviation between the heat flows.
