A mixture(11) of additives based on natural materials and a plastic binder matrix are compressed and plasticized in an extruder(12), continuously extruded through a die(13) and immediately cooled on the surface with a predetermined temperature gradient along the extrudate length. The outer area of the extruded profile(17) cools and holds the profile shape and then the remaining cross-section solidifies. A mixture(11) of additives based on natural materials and a plastic binder matrix are compressed and plasticized in an extruder(12). The molten mixture is continuously extruded through a die(13) and immediately cooled on the surface with a predetermined temperature gradient along the extrudate length. The outer area of the extruded profile(17) cools and holds the profile shape and then the remaining cross-section solidifies. An independent claim is included for the process equipment which includes an extruder(12) with profiling die(13) immediately followed by a cooling zone with a temperature gradient along the profile.
